Poetry Workshop: Ekphrasis Vision
Join John Brantingham, professor emeritus of creative writing for a free poetry workshop on how to write Ekphrasis (poetry and prose about works of art) and how to get a keener sense of interpreting a work of art. Brantingham will demonstrate how to break down artworks into their compositional design elements and principles to further our understanding of content and meaning to gain and new approach to your writing.
Brantingham will provide prompts and discuss writing techniques to give writers and poets new tools to broaden their ekphrastic vocabulary.
