SUMMARY:Shaving Cream Marbling with Peggy Minckler
DESCRIPTION:Shaving cream marbling is a fun\, artistic technique that creates unique\, marbled patterns on paper or other surfaces by using shaving cream and water color paint. It’s a process of layering colors on a shaving cream base\, swirling them together\, and then transferring the design to a chosen surface. This method is popular for its ease of use\, vibrant results\, and the element of surprise with each print.  \nEach participant will create a “marbled” print on paper using shaving cream and liquid watercolor paints. \nAll ages. \nRegistration Required. \nParticipants are asked to leave their art projects for our Community Art Show displaying all projects created throughout the summer. Projects will be labeled with artists first initial\, last name and age. Select projects may be laminated to help preserve the piece. Projects will be on display through the 25th Building Anniversary that will be celebrated as part of the 26th Annual History Fair on Saturday\, September 16th.

SUMMARY:Tie-Dye with Miss Meagan
DESCRIPTION:Tie-Dye is a textile art form where fabric is folded\, twisted\, or tied\, then dyed to create unique patterns. The tied areas resist the dye\, resulting in vibrant\, colorful designs. This resist dyeing technique has ancient roots and has been adapted throughout history in various cultures. \nEach participant will bring one fabric item to tie-dye. No towels or blankets. Bind the fabric to create desired design and apply dye. Items will be placed in labeled bags to allow “set” time and wash/rinse process. Wash/Rinse process will be completed by Miss Meagan & Miss Jessica. Items will be available for pickup at the next Community Art Night. \nItems may be taken home for “set” time and wash/rinse process. Instructions will be available. \nPrepare your selected item for Tie-Dye: \n\n\n\n\nPre-wash the fabric: Use hot water and a textile detergent to remove any sizing\, oils\, or finishes that might hinder dye absorption.\nSoda ash soak (optional\, but recommended): Soak the fabric in a soda ash solution (sodium carbonate) for 5-15 minutes. This helps the dye bond with the fabric. Follow the instructions on the soda ash packaging\, usually involving mixing it with warm water. \n\nNo towels or blankets. \nAll Ages are Welcome. \nRegistration Required \nParticipants are asked to leave their art projects for our Community Art Show displaying all projects created throughout the summer. Projects will be labeled with artists first initial\, last name and age. Select projects may be laminated to help preserve the piece. Projects will be on display through the 25th Building Anniversary that will be celebrated as part of the 26th Annual History Fair on Saturday\, September 16th.
