SUMMER READING EVENTS & PROGRAMS

“ADVENTURE BEGINS AT YOUR LIBRARY” READING TRUNK
Choose a Reading Adventure from our Travel Trunk. Complete the adventure and earn a prize.
*Prizes: Children (birth to 11 yrs old) get to pick a jibbitz. Ages 12 and up get to choose a waterproof sticker or a jibbitz.
CHILDREN (ages Birth to 5 years old)
Children are asked to color a circle on their reading log for each 15 minutes that they read or are read to. Reading Records will be available at the library front desk starting June 24th. Children may choose a book from Chet’s Book Bin as a special gift from the Miss Jessica, Chet and the Library. Children may also earn a jibbitz for every 240 minutes (4 hours) of logged reading time. A jibbitz bracelet may be selected at registration. Reading logs are due by Friday, September 6th.
Child’s Play!: Miss Jessica will share themed stories, songs and finger plays. Wednesdays from 1:00 – 2:00 pm Ages birth to age 5. Registration is Required. Space is limited.

Children may choose a book from Chet’s Book Bin as a special gift from the Miss Jessica, Chet and the Library. Children may also earn a jibbitz for every 240 minutes (4 hours) of logged reading time. A jibbitz bracelet may be selected at registration. Reading logs are due by Friday, September 6th.
Summer Challenges: Throughout the summer, see if you can complete the 10 challenges on your reading log. You can earn a jibbitz for every 20 points or 2 challenges. You can also earn a jibbitz be attending events* at the library. *Excludes Child’s Play and Mobile Summer Reading.
Mobile Summer Reading: Miss Jessica and Chet will be visiting our friends at The Wrap, Sinclairville Summer Recreation and Gerry Summer Recreation on Wednesdays (July 17th – Aug 14th) for some library adventures filled with fun and learning!!!
TEENS (ages 12 to 17)
Teens are asked to record the number of books that they read. Reading Records will be available at the library front desk starting June 24th. Teens can pick out a waterproof sticker or a jibbitz when they register and for every 5 books they read. Reading logs are due by Friday, September 6th.
ADULTS (ages 18 & up)
Adults are asked to record the number of books that they read. Reading Records will be available at the library front desk starting June 24th. Select a waterproof sticker upon registration and when turning in your completed log. Reading logs are due by Friday, September 6th.
